September 18, 2005, 5pm: Come celebrate the work and life of one of this century's most innovative and influential poets - Robert Creeley. Duende Poetry Series (at Anasazi Field Winery in the Village of Placitas) wishes to honor him as poet and friend, as well as a distinctive resident of Placitas. Bobby Byrd, Margaret Randall, Gene Frumkin and Karen McKinnon will share poems of homage, anecdotes and favorite Creeley poems. There will also be an open mic for others who wish to read something by or about Robert Creeley.

October 2, 2005, 1-4pm: Placitas Democrats and Friends invite you to a celebration of our community at the Placitas Elementary School. No speeches - enjoy free music, hot dogs, cold drinks, and balloons. For a downloadable flyer about this event, click here.

October 22, 2005, Starparty: Join members of the Albuquerque Astronomical Society to learn the constellations and view the stars and planets in our spectacular Placitas night skies. Telescopes will be provided. Dress warm! Viewing begins at sundown and continues until 10pm at Homesteads Village, 221 Highway 165 in Placitas.
